Musical event: Ken Workman & The Union/Jehan Khoorshed & His Problems!

Ken Workman & The Union are back, and this time he is splitting the bill with by Jehan Khoorshed & His Problems! Kathryn and George invite you to join them in participating in this fun musical event featuring these two great bands.

The concert will be held tomorrow (Saturday, May 20th), 1:30 am, at Irene’s Pub Restaurant (click the restaurant name for location info).

MMMWorks Welcomes New Webmaster!

Musicworks is happy to welcome its new webmaster, Gord Forbes!  Gord is a native of Almonte and is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program at Carleton University.  He plays piano and trombone, the latter of which helped earn him a music proficiency award during his final year at Almonte and District High School.  At Musicworks, Gord has been charged with updating and maintaining the look, feel, and content of our web site.  Welcome aboard, Gord!

With Gord’s help, the Musicworks website will be undergoing significant changes and improvements.  Be sure to check back with us during the next few weeks to see all the cool modifications we are implementing!

Victoria Day

Musicworks will be closed Monday May 23rd due to the Victoria Day Holiday. If you have a lesson on Monday we would be more than willing to switch it to a different day temporarily. Have a great long holiday everyone!

Home Recording 101 – with Rick Lazarra

MMMusicworks presents the exciting Home Recording 101 recording workshop instructed by Rick Lazarra. There will be five weekly sessions from May 30th to June 27th at 7 pm to 10 pm. Having both basic computer skills and some musical background would be a great prerequisite to this program; you will learn how to turn your ordinary home computer into a multitask recording studio! Get on the Bus!

Kathryn and George invite you to participate in some good fun by joining them at the Nepean Sail Club between 8 and 11 this Friday where they will be performing with talented singer-songwriter Ken Workman and his Union.

Residents of Almonte and environs are furthermore invited to take advantage of “the Bus.”  The Bus will be leaving the Naismith Pub promptly  at 7 o’clock, and returning after the gig @ 11. Bus fare is $15 and must be reserved by Thursday afternoon by calling us at 613-256-PLAY. Bus Riders may enjoy refreshments compliments of MMMusicworks. Come on out for a great time and support this great local (mostly!) talent!
